Kennet & Avon Canal – Pewsey Wharf to Honeystreet
This stage of the Kennet & Avon Canal starts at Pewsey Wharf, just north of Pewsey village, and takes you to the village of Honeystreet. Here you'll get a glimpse of Alton Barnes White Horse as you exit on to the lane and go over the canal bridge. At Honeystreet Mill, there is the Honeystreet Mill Cafe, Honeystreet Mill Farm Shop, The India Shop and the Crop Circle Visitor Centre & Exhibition
Day 6 Kennet & Avon Canal Itinerary – Detailed Information
Morning
Walk the Kennet & Avon Canal from Pewsey Wharf (Bridge 114) to Honeystreet (Bridge 124).
When you exit from the canal on to the lane, you need to head north to access Honeystreet Mill which is a few yards on your left as you walk towards the Alton Barnes White Horse which you can see in the distance from the bridge.
Lunch at Honeystreet Mill Cafe.
You can also visit Honeystreet Mill Farm Shop, The India Shop and The Crop Circle Visitor Centre & Exhibition at the same time so allow another hour to do this.
1.5 hours for lunch, plus another hour to look round
Afternoon
In Pewsey village, visit the Pewsey Heritage Centre to see displays of rural history and local stories. Allow 30 to 60 minutes.
Approximately 1 hour
Take a detour to go on our circular walk up to Alton White Horse, starting at point 6 of the walk.
Approximately 3 – 3.5 hours – 6 miles / 9.6 kms
