Kennet & Avon Canal – Crofton to Pewsey Wharf

This stage of the Kennet & Avon Canal starts at the historic Crofton Beam Engines and takes you along a peaceful stretch of the canal to Pewsey Wharf, just north of Pewsey village, which we suggest you explore in the afternoon.

Day 4 Kennet & Avon Canal Itinerary – Detailed Information

Morning

Walk the Kennet & Avon Canal from Crofton (Sam Farmer Lock 58) to Pewsey Wharf (Bridge 114).

Approximately 2.5 hours – 7.3 miles / 11.75 kms

You can stop for lunch at The Waterfront Bar & Bistro at Pewsey Wharf or walk from Pewsey Wharf down into the village of Pewsey where you will find:

Pewsey Vale Community Crafts & Tea Rooms

The Shed Alehouse

The Moonrakers

Takeaway sandwiches, rolls, pasties and other delicious fare from Marshalls Bakery, home of the lardy cake!
